Mike Tyson, former heavyweight champion of the world - and the youngest ever boxer to hold the title. He has apparently retired, but I would not be surprised to see him and Lennox Lewis go at in the near future.
What did he do?
On July 18, 1991, Tyson met Desiree Washington, a Miss Black America contestant, at a pageant rehearsal. The pair go to Tyson's hotel room in the early morning hours. The following day, Washington filed a complaint with police alleging Tyson raped her. On Sept. 9, A special grand jury indicts Tyson on rape and three other charges. Two days later, he is booked in Indianapolis and released on $30,000 cash bond.

Sentence?
After nine hours of deliberation, Tyson is found guilty on one count of rape and two counts of deviate sexual conduct. The counts carry a maximum penalty of 60 years in prison, but Superior Court Judge Patricia Gifford sentences Tyson to 10 years in prison, suspending four. He served three years. | |
