Who
is he?
Eminem aka Marshall Mathers aka Slim Shady.
After his breakout "The Slim Shady LP" he quickly
became the biggest white name in a black-dominated rap
music scene. Originally discovered by Dr Dre in Detroit.
MI, Eminem is arguably the most popular music artist worldwide.
Despite the dire track record of other music superstars
trying their hand at acting (Madonna, Ice Cube, and Tupac
to name just three)
Eminem's recently released semi-biographical flick "8
Mile" was both a critical and financial success.
What did he do?
Eminem was charged with carrying a concealed weapon following
a June 4 confrontation outside a Warren nightclub. Police
say Eminem struck a man - club bouncer John Guerrera -
he says he saw kissing his estranged wife, Kim. Alledgedly,
the victim was pistol-whipped, but Eminem has always denied
this, claiming he only threatened him with the gun but
hit him with his fist.
Indeed, in the recently released song "Sing for the
Moment" Eminem's lyrics state: "You're
full of shit too, Guerrera, that was a fist that hit you."

When?
June 4th, 2000
Charged?
Eminem pleaded guilty to the charge in February 2001
as part of an agreement with prosecutors who dropped
a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon in return.
Sentence?
Rap
star Eminem was sentenced to two years' probation for
carrying a concealed weapon. The charge carried a maximum
sentence of five years in prison, although Macomb County
Prosecutor Carl Marlinga said earlier that he would
seek no more than six months "because he has no record
and there was no serious injury."
Under
the terms of the probation, Macomb County Circuit Court
Judge Antonio Viviano ordered the Grammy winner to undergo
counseling and submit to drug testing.
